If you’re the youth person at a small church, you already know the math: a handful of students, no curriculum budget, and a Wednesday that arrives whether you’re ready or not. You might be a volunteer. You might be the pastor wearing the youth hat too. Either way, you’re the one staring at a blank Sunday-school quarter wondering what you’re going to teach, and “buy the big subscription curriculum” isn’t really on the table.
We built our youth lessons for exactly that person. I’m Mindi. My husband Robert and I run DiviNav out of a small office in Donnelly, Idaho, and our son Clayton, who’s 16, has been through every lesson we make before it goes out the door. So this isn’t curriculum written by a committee that’s never sat on a youth-room couch. It’s built for the volunteer with a full-time job and forty-five minutes of prep, teaching a room of five to fifteen kids.

What you can download free (no catch)
You don’t have to sign up for a trial or hand over a card to see the real thing. Each of these is a complete, ready-to-teach lesson — leader guide and the matching student pages, yours to print and run:
- True North — Lesson 1 (middle school) — the opening lesson of our 12-lesson discipleship program for ages 10–14. Jesus is True North, the Bible is the Map, the Holy Spirit is the Trail Companion.
- Foundation — Lesson 1 (high school) — the first lesson of our flagship high-school program, built on the questions students are actually asking.
- Three ready-to-teach lessons, free — a sample kit including a full youth-night lesson on the Armor of God, plus a small-group and a men’s study, so you can see the range.
Every one of them is written so a volunteer can pick it up and teach with almost no prep: a clear leader script, a simple rhythm, and student pages that do the heavy lifting.
Built for the small-church reality
Most curriculum assumes a budget, a team, and a room full of kids. Small-church youth ministry is usually one tired adult and a few students who showed up. We designed for that on purpose:
- Almost no prep. The leader guide tells you what to say and do, block by block. You can read it on the drive over and still teach it well.
- No per-student fees. When you’re ready for a full program, you license it once and print as many student copies as your ministry needs — forever. A single church starts at $79, not a per-kid subscription.
- Works across denominations. Orthodox, evangelical, Trinitarian, and written to teach across traditions — here’s what we believe.
Why “theology-reviewed” matters here
When you’re handing a lesson to a volunteer to teach your church’s students, “I found it free online” isn’t always comforting — you don’t have time to vet every page. So every lesson we make is reviewed for theological accuracy and for how it handles sensitive topics before it ever reaches you. The free samples are the same lessons we sell, not stripped-down teasers. You can read the whole thing, check it against your own convictions, and decide.
How to use the free lessons
Start with one. If you teach middle schoolers, grab True North Lesson 1; if it’s high schoolers, grab Foundation Lesson 1. Print the student pages, skim the leader guide once, and teach it this week. If it lands with your students, the full programs are right there, and most small churches start with one program and grow into the rest.
