DiviNav respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email info@divinav.com and we’ll explain in plain language.
What We Collect
When you interact with DiviNav, we may collect:
- Email address — required for delivering PDFs and managing your account.
- Name — optional; used to personalize emails.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Usage data — basic server logs (IP, browser type, pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.
- Email engagement — whether you open emails and click links, via MailPoet, so we can improve content.
- Study notes you write — the free-text notes, answers, reflections, and prayers you type into our online reader. These are saved to your account so they sync across your devices and are waiting when you come back.
- Reading position — the last day you opened in a plan, so the reader can take you back to where you left off.
How We Use It
- Deliver the products you purchased
- Send confirmation, transactional, and devotional emails you’ve subscribed to
- Respond to your support questions
- Keep your account and our systems secure
- Improve our products based on what readers find useful
- Save the notes you write in the reader and sync them across your devices
- Operate the optional community-notes feature when you choose to share a note
We do not sell your data to third parties.
We do not run advertising or content analytics on anything you write in your notes. Your notes are there to serve your study — nothing else.
Notes You Write in the Reader
Our online reader lets you type notes and reflections right beside each reading and save your answers. Here is exactly how that works:
- Where they’re stored. Your notes and reading position are saved to your DiviNav account in our website’s database, hosted by Hostinger. They sync across the devices you sign in on. We keep an independent backup of the notes database (about 60 days) plus our host’s routine backups, so a hardware failure doesn’t lose your work.
- What they’re used for. Only to provide the reader and sync your work. We do not use note content for advertising, profiling, or analytics, and we never sell it.
- They can be personal. Notes are private to your account unless you choose to share one (below). Some of our studies touch tender subjects, so please don’t enter anything you wouldn’t want stored — and for any study that deals with legal matters, don’t write details you wouldn’t want kept on record.
Optional anonymous sharing
Sharing is off by default. On any note you may tick “Share anonymously.” A shared note is shown to other members who own that same plan, without your name, beside the passage and on a community-notes page. They can copy it into their own notes or report it.
What “anonymous” means: your name is not shown to other members. We do, however, retain who wrote each note, and DiviNav staff and moderators can see the author’s identity — this is necessary to keep the community safe and to respond to reports. So a shared note is anonymous to other readers, not to us. You can unshare a note at any time.
Moderation. Any member can report a shared note; on the first report it is hidden automatically and our team reviews it. When we review a report we can see the note text, the author, and who reported it. We may restore, unshare, or delete shared notes.
Your control over your notes
- Export all your notes anytime as Markdown or a text file, from the reader.
- Edit or delete — clearing a note field deletes it immediately.
- Unshare a shared note at any time.
- On account closure, your notes and reading positions are deleted from our active database (they may persist briefly in routine backups before those rotate out).
Service Providers
We rely on a small set of trusted services to operate DiviNav:
- Stripe — payment processing · privacy policy
- MailPoet — email delivery · privacy notice
- Hostinger — web hosting (including storage of your account and your saved notes) · privacy policy
- Meta (Facebook & Instagram) — advertising measurement via the Meta Pixel · privacy policy
- Google Analytics (GA4) — website analytics · privacy policy
- Google Ads — advertising measurement & conversion tracking · privacy policy
Each provider handles your data under its own privacy commitments. We use them only as needed to operate the Service.
Cookies
divinav.com uses essential cookies to keep your session active and our forms working. Stripe and MailPoet may set their own cookies during checkout and through email links, governed by their privacy policies above.
We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for advertising. It sets cookies and records activity on our site — pages you view and actions such as viewing pricing or completing a purchase — so we can measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and reach people likely to be interested in DiviNav. Where you have entered contact details on our site (for example, your email when requesting the free sample), the Pixel may also share them with Meta in hashed (scrambled) form so they cannot be read as plain text. The Pixel does not receive your payment card details, which stay with Stripe.
You can limit or opt out of this advertising tracking through your Facebook ad preferences, your browser’s cookie settings, or industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance. We do not sell your personal information.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site — pages viewed, where visits come from, and completed purchases — so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf; it does not receive your payment card details, which stay with Stripe. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or your browser’s cookie settings.
We also use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure how our search and display ads perform. When you arrive from a Google ad or complete an action such as requesting a free sample or making a purchase, Google’s tag may set cookies and record that conversion so we can see which ads are effective. It does not receive your payment card details, which stay with Stripe. You can manage this through your Google ad settings or your browser’s cookie settings.
Your Rights
- Access and download your account data — email info@divinav.com
- Update or correct your information — via the account page
- Unsubscribe from any list — every email has an unsubscribe link
- Your notes — export, edit, delete, or unshare them anytime from the reader; on account closure they’re removed
- Delete your account — email us; we’ll remove personal data within 30 days (we retain order/payment records as required by tax and accounting law)
Children’s Data
DiviNav products are intended for adult readers. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their information, email us and we’ll delete it promptly. The online reader and note-saving features are offered to adult readers; we do not offer them to children. If we later bring the reader to youth curriculum, we will add the appropriate protections first.
Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as you have an active subscription or membership. After cancellation, we retain order records for 7 years for tax/accounting purposes; the rest is deleted on request. Notes you write in the reader are kept while your account is active and are deleted on account closure, apart from short-lived routine backups.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes affecting how we use your data, email you in advance.
